Title: A Charming Stay by the Port with a Warm and Welcoming Owner
My wife says that the bathrooms could use a much-needed update, as they appeared worn and outdated, with broken tiles and a malfunctioning toilet.

It was a real village room but made comfortable. Everything was freshly decorated and clean.
I cannot think of a thing.

It was very near the quayside at Pythagoreio and convenient for connections by Flying Dolphin. From the outside the building is attractive.
This is not a hotel but a pension. We were required to pay in advance in cash. Our room in the attic was dominated by a fridge and washing up bowl seated on a dais. The tiny balcony had a lovely view but was deafeningly noisy because of the air conditioning fan. The staff were unable to take responsibility for the smallest transaction and had to refer every decision to the manager who was largely absent. Although the booking was made months in advance the staff were confused about it and unsure whether they could offer us a room.

The value for money at Tarsanas was excellent, and our room had a lovely view from the balcony. The location was perfect, right by the sea and close to the heart of the city. The staff treated us warmly and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
The breakfast option could have been improved with more variety.

The air-conditioned studios at Hotel Tarsanas were amazing! The balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea gave me breathtaking views every morning. The private bathroom with a shower was clean and convenient. The kitchenette and mini fridge in the apartment made it easy for me to prepare my own meals. And having a safety box was a big plus for me as a budget traveller.
One thing I liked less about the apartments was that they didn't have a terrace. But hey, that's just my personal preference.

The location was excellent, right on the ocean. No traffic. Pleasant outdoor restaurant. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Q
The room was very poor. It was really a student studio in the attic rather than a proper hotel room. The manager offered us another room but it did not have the ocean outlook that we had booked. The bath room was tiny and water spilled out of the shower onto the floor. However it did have a little balcony looking out over the Agean, which gave the room some charm. The other rooms in the hotel seemed better. Overall we enjoyed our stay but I would look for somewhere else if I was returning.

I chose Hotel Tarsanas solely because of its location near the Monastery of Panagia Spiliani. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's tour/ticket assistance and front-desk safe. The staff also helped arrange car and bicycle rental. What I liked the most was the on-site bar serving delicious Mediterranean and local dishes.
No reception; pay cash in advance.

Our jurney on Samos was perfect and one of the main reasons was Hotel Tarsanas. First of all it's located on a very nice place, just at the end of the little yatch harbour of Pitagoras. But even if the harbour is full of nice and crowded restourants, when you arrive on your hotel the emplacement is very quiet. It's just in fornt of the sea and the view is amazing! A nice breakfast in the morning is followed with a very tasty disches during the day because Tarsanas is giving service also as a really nice restaurant. The owner and the staff are really friendly. Just in front of the hotel you can swim and lie on the beach (the beach is not sandy but the water is nice). We slept and waked up with the sound of the waves, an amazing experience. During our holiday I became sick (get cold due to a scooter trip with a wet swimming suit) During my sickness the hotel staff was like a real family. The owner bought me some medice from the pharmacy and didn't asked for money, the staff prepared me special disches to make me good. I was really touched about their behaviour. Thank you George, thank you Danieva and Tina!!!!

My friends and I had an absolute blast during our stay in Pythagoreio at Hotel Tarsanas! The location was perfect, just a short walk from both the Port of Samos and Samos Port. We were able to explore the area easily and found plenty of fun activities to do. The hotel even had its own beach, although it was pebbled, it was still a great spot to chill and relax. Plus, the option to choose between half board or full board meant we never went hungry, and the menu had so many delicious options to choose from. And let me tell you, breakfast was served super early, which was perfect for catching our ferry. a vacation experience made for young party-goers like us!
If I had to mention one thing, I would've loved to see more options for nightlife and entertainment specifically geared towards young people. While there were plenty of activities in the area, it would have been even more fun if there were more dedicated spots for young party-goers to let loose and have a great time.

had a lovely time in pythagoreio, samos. tarsanas was such a gem - basic but cozy rooms, breathtaking views, and the staff's hospitality was beyond compare. george's knowledge of greek history and culture was a highlight, and being just minutes from the beach was a bonus. exceeded expectations!
Balcony wasn't safe.

The hotel is located right on a little beach with free sunbeds if you were staying at the Taverna. The breakfast is very good, served at the outside restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing brochures in the rooms and making the stay easy. The room offers an amazing sea view, making it a pleasant experience.
There is limited wifi, only available in the public area.
